With the Dakar Rally fast approaching, MM Technology enters the 2026 edition as the top rally truck manufacturer. The team not only confirms its technical leadership but also announces a major partnership extension with Prometeon — all during its fan send-off event in Sedlcany.
MM Technology confirms position as top rally truck manufacturer
For the second year in a row, 9 trucks built by MM Technology will compete in the Dakar Rally, which is the highest number of any manufacturer. Five brand-new MMT DAKAR EVO4 trucks are en route to Dakar 2026 — the latest machines manufactured under the MM Technology brand. Known both as a rally racing powerhouse and a truck manufacturer, MM Technology delivers performance-proven rally machinery designed and built in-house. The EVO4s will be joined by trusted MMT EVO3 and EVO1 models in the upcoming challenge.
“We’re proud that so many of our trucks are heading to Dakar. It’s what they were built for. But more importantly, it shows that our development approach works for both our factory programme and customer teams alike,”— Martin Macik Sr., Head of MM Technology
Successful partnership continues
MM Technology and Prometeon Tyre Group have renewed their partnership for three more years, continuing a collaboration based on joint development, performance and real-world data. The announcement was made symbolically during the fan event “Let’s Go to Dakar”, where fans, partners, and the team came together ahead of Dakar 2026.
Prometeon tyres have become a core part of MM Technology’s success, not just in terms of race performance, but also in technical development across tyre durability, grip and adaptability.
“What started as a bold technical bet became one of our most valuable alliances. We’re glad to continue this journey through 2028 and keep pushing the limits together,”— Martin Macik Jr., pilot, MM Technology
More than six of the trucks competing in Dakar 2026 will run on the newest spec of Prometeon tyres, co-developed with MM Technology using feedback from both racing and testing.
Fan sent off in Dakar style
Before heading to pre-Dakar scrutineering in Barcelona, MM Technology held its traditional “Let’s go to Dakar” event in Sedlcany. Hundreds of fans came to see the rally truck named Joseph, support the team, and Martin Macik — who also revealed his new helmet.
“We are always happy to meet with our fans because they are the driving force behind our success. Every year, the Let’s go to Dakar event offers a perfect chance to get close to them, thank them personally and give them an opportunity to be a part of our story even more.”, adds Martin Macik, pilot of MM Technology factory team truck.
Fans signed the MM Technology truck, added their messages for the crew and took part in fun activities for both children and grown-ups. All of that in the company of not only Martin Macik, Frantisek Tomasek and David Svanda, aka the truck crew, but also many other members of the team who are usually working behind the scenes. A proper Dakar send-off with the energy that fuels the team in every stage.
