The first racing kilometres of the season await the MM Technology factory crew, with Martin Macik Jr., Frantisek Tomasek, and David Svanda taking on the Baja Aragon. The team will line up at the start with their trusted truck, Frank, which has proven its qualities over the years and continues to show it still shines in the rally conditions. For MM Technology, Baja Aragon serves as both a competitive test and the beginning of full-on preparation for Dakar 2026.

Frank Still in Top Form

Frank has already demonstrated at previous editions of Baja Aragon that even with a manual gearbox, it can compete with ease. This year will be no different, despite only taking part in a couple of exhibition runs and trainings with fans so far.

“Frank’s still in great shape, and we want to give him the opportunity to show what he can do. We see Baja Aragon as the perfect chance to get the crew back in sync and to push the limits of a machine we know inside out. It’s also the start of our Dakar preparation,” says MM Technology factory pilot Martin Macik Jr.

Familiar Faces on the Track

The rally kicks off this Friday with a prologue, continues with two stages on Saturday, and finishes with a final stage on Sunday. Frank will be up against nine other trucks — including Cenda, another rally truck from the MM Technology workshop. This head-to-head with the Dakar 2024-winning truck, now competing under the Firemen Dakarteam banner, offers a unique comparison of top-tier machines built under the same roof. Baja Aragon promises demanding conditions, hot weather, and an intense pace that will put both vehicles and crews to the test.

“We know what we’re getting into — Frank may be from a past generation of rally trucks, but he still has a lot to offer. We want to fight and gather valuable kilometres that will bring new insights and help us keep moving forward,” adds team mechanic David Svanda.

The Summer’s Big Czech Dakar Event Promises Surprises

Just days after returning from Spain, Czech Dakar teams will meet on Saturday, 9th August, at the Dakar Obsessed OPEN AIR 2025 in Sedlcany. And MM Technology is preparing a special surprise for fans right on-site.

“Of course, I won’t give away what we’re bringing, but I can promise it’s something new, something fans will see up close — and something that will excite not just followers of our rally program, but fans of MM Technology’s development as a whole,” teases Martin Macik Jr.

A strong line-up of Czech rally racers from various categories will be there, including Martin Prokop, Martin Soltys, Dusan Drdaj, Alyiah Koloc, and others, who will even compete directly on the track. A packed program for both adult and junior Dakar fans rounds out what promises to be an unforgettable event no rally enthusiast should miss.
